Summary:

In this role, you will execute business strategies and activities for brand pharmaceutical manufacturer contracting by supporting the development of new opportunities with team members to generate leads for new partnerships in a multibillion-dollar drug portfolio.   You will understand the pharmaceutical healthcare industry dynamics, competitive structures, and strategies to effectively secure contracts for brand drugs with the 340B prime vendor program (PVP).  You will develop value propositions and deliver business case examples to brand drug manufacturers, building trusted relationships across broad outpatient therapeutic drug classifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new pharmacy program opportunities that address stakeholder needs including identifying brand drug manufacturer business needs, and understanding their organization structures and strategies to complement the Apexus contracting value proposition to secure brand drug contracts.
  • Develop, deliver, and monitor new business opportunities with pharmacy manufacturers by leveraging relationships with national, corporate, and senior-level executive manufacturer decision-makers.
  • Develop relationships with consultants, attorneys, and advocacy groups to grow a network that is familiar with and supportive of PVP contracting with pharmacy manufacturers.
  • Provide support in articulating and educating the detailed advantages of Apexus’ prime vendor program contracting value through effective communication with brand drug manufacturers.
  • Develop and present executive business reviews to Apexus’ leadership, participant advisory councils, and other internal stakeholders to gain consensus and direction of contracting structures.
  • Conduct therapeutic drug cost analysis, market assessment and research to create business case models and value propositions tailored to specific therapeutic drug classes.
  • Serve as a liaison for the Apexus prime vendor education and covered entity optimization teams to build effective working relationships and collaboratively present brand opportunities that meet the needs of Apexus’ participants.
  • Understand and evaluate the use of drugs in 340B-eligible hospitals and clinics outpatient drug class of trade.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in pharmacy required.
  • Experience in pharmacy contracting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic and rigorous analytical agility while using sound judgment to set objectives is desired.
  • Leadership, presentation, and cross-functional interaction skills with a proven track record of delivering results needed.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.
