Job Summary:

Socure's legal team is seeking a Commercial Counsel. Reporting to our Head of Commercial Legal, you will have a chance to help shape the company’s legal function, build processes and policies, partner with sales, finance, product, and development teams, and other attorneys.  We offer an exciting, fast paced company environment, with a shared mission to eliminate identity fraud and take over the identity verification market.

Socure’s Legal team is part of the Financial Operations Center of Excellence organization and we pride ourselves on best in class legal counsel contributing to Socure’s mission to eliminate identity fraud. 

Job Duties:

  • Advise on a broad range of commercial matters and support our sales teams on deal structure and contract negotiations

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of technology and commercial contracts including SaaS agreements, Partner/Reseller, NDAs, Evaluations, vendor contracts

  • Use and build upon your knowledge of legal issues relating to IP, Licensing, Data Use, Privacy, Regulatory compliance

  • Become an expert on Socure's products and business models, help us bring new offerings to market

  • Be responsible for identifying and advising on risk and offer creative risk mitigation solutions

  • Prepare, maintain and improve template agreements, playbooks, operational guidance

Job Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school and active Bar membership

  • 3+ years of post JD experience negotiating sales-side SaaS agreements 

  • Law Firm, Data Use/Licensing and fintech experience preferred 

  • You understand the commitment and hard work involved in working at a successful, fast growing start-up.

  • Voice your opinion and a drive for continuous improvement 

  • Ability to independently manage and own multiple projects with varying deadlines; the ability to make decisions under ambiguous circumstances.

  • A focus on closing deals and finding pragmatic solutions to any issue you encounter

  • Adapt to change in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Collaborative partnership and diplomatic communication with multiple constituencies 

  • You understand the commitment and hard work involved in working at a successful, fast growing start-up.

Salary Disclosure:

Base salary range: $150,000 - $190,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity,  comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
