Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting query performance issues
  • Monitor database up times, alerts, and performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand and address their database needs.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on database performance and key initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
  • Participate in on call rotation.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Postgre, etc.) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in database administration.
  • Proven experience managing and maintaining database systems.
  • Hands-on experience with database management tools and technologies.

Skills:

  • Effective communication verbal and written skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in database management tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in database administration.
