Brisbane City Council has partnered with design and construction consortium, Brisbane Move (made up of construction-lead ACCIONA and design-lead Arup) to deliver the major infrastructure for Brisbane Metro. ACCIONA is looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join our Brisbane Move team and report to the M&E Superintendent. As Mechanical Supervisor, you will coordinate onsite mechanical construction activities, workforce, plant resources and sub-contract teams to achieve effective performance from all parties and will ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule and to the specified quality. This role will include both temporary and permanent mechanical coordination within surface and underground works.

Required Skills and Competencies

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the mechanical work and performance of construction teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian standards and regulations
  • Plan upcoming work and ensure resource levels are adequate
  • Ensure that reports, records, timesheets, and invoices are approved and completed on time
  • Proactively manage on site safety through strategies and programs to minise incidents

Competencies & Experience needed

  • Possess 8+ years’ hands-on experience as a Mechanical Supervisor/Leading Hand in the construction industry
  • Mechanical trades qualification relevant to the construction and building industry
  • Ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands and being able to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong drive, determination, and a positive attitude
