Internal Control Officer

Adyen is looking for an Internal Control Officer in our São Paulo office to join the global Corporate Risk team, who will contribute to advance Adyen’s fast growth in the LATAM region. You are experienced in risk management and internal control systems. You are self-sufficient with a proactive mindset and have the ability and eagerness to operate independently in a complex but fun global environment.

We work as a team across cultures and time zones. As the Internal Control officer in the São Paulo office, you will be covering the LATAM region and will be the linking pin between the Corporate Risk team and local management. You will work on strengthening Adyen’s risk & internal control framework to enable controlled growth. You will support the company in building a great business, preserving the company culture and achieving its long-term goals by taking our risk management to the next level.

What you’ll do:

  • Strengthen the local internal control framework and support local management with risk management matters
  • Evaluate changes in the internal and external environment and assess the impact on the processes, risks and controls
  • Evaluate the local processes and controls to identify opportunities for improvement and automation
  • Coordinate and perform testing of controls, and report on the effectiveness of Adyen’s local risk and control systems
  • Set up local risk reporting (cycle) towards the local executive committee
  • Manage requests from regulators and auditors to ensure successful audit cycles (e.g. BACEN audits, SOC 1 & 2 audits)
  • Create a network and be a trusted advisor for the business (including management) and monitor the risk environment
  • Collaborate with your peers from the Corporate Risk team in managing the global internal control framework and contribute to various projects.

 

Who you are:

  • Able to operate comfortably and independently within a complex global environment
  • Proactive, energetic, lifelong learner and have a hands-on mentality
  • Critical thinking skills and eagerness to comprehend emerging internal and external developments and execute accordingly
  • Eager to work in an innovative technology company within the financial sector
  • Relevant working experience (6+ years) within an external audit, risk management or internal control function (experience within the payments industry is not required)
  • Knowledge of developing and maintaining internal control frameworks
  • Great communication and influencing skills; excellent English
