Join us as our new Responsible Sourcing Lead! 

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated team member to shape and lead our responsible souring initiatives. You will work in close collaboration with the Program Manager, Group Sustainability, and the Direct and Indirect Procurement teams to shape the Responsible Sourcing Strategy at Novonesis and embed ESG elements in the end-to-end Procurement processes. 

On a high level, the position holder has the responsibility for: 

  • Developing and operationalizing Responsible Sourcing practices within Procurement 

  • Value chain ESG risk mapping and due diligence strategy 

  • Supplier ESG performance assessments and scoring  

  • Knowledge creation and stakeholder management 

Develop and operationalize Responsible Sourcing practices within Procurement 

  • Develop policies, metrics and standards linked to Responsible Sourcing, in collaboration with Group Sustainability 

  • Serve as project manager for implementing ESG elements in end-to-end procurement processes 

  • Collaborate with category managers to anchor ESG risk identification and mitigation in category strategies 

  • Provide hands-on support to category managers and operational procurement for execution in E2E processes 

  • Provide input to reporting and external assessments that evaluate Novenesis’ Responsible Sourcing practices  

 

Value chain ESG risk mitigation and due diligence strategy 

  • Define and execute supplier ESG risk identification and risk mitigation framework, in collaboration with Group Sustainability 

  • Define supplier due diligence framework, in compliance with upcoming regulations, e.g. CSDDD 

  • Lead value chain mapping exercises within Procurement  

  • Participate in relevant internal and external working groups to prepare Novonesis for current and upcoming value chain compliance requirements 

 

Supplier ESG performance assessments and scoring  

  • Serve as the super user and deployment lead for supplier ESG assessment digital tools in Procurement 

  • Contribute to the development of tools and a digitalization strategy for supplier ESG assessments and risk mitigation 

  • Develop score cards linked to identified ESG risks and opportunities 

  • Oversee and plan supplier ESG audits 

 

Knowledge Creation and stakeholder engagement 

  •  Ensure communication and knowledge sharing within the team on Responsible Sourcing practices 

  • Assist in building internal trainings for knowledge building within Procurement 

  • Engage in internal and external networks to bring and share best practices within the company 

Educational background and other qualifications sought

  • Preferably a Master’s degree with exposure to responsible supply chain management, sustainability, or political sciences 

  • Seniority: preferably +5 years of experience within consulting, supply chain management, human rights, sustainability or a similar field

  • Working experience with supplier ESG assessments, audits, and human rights expertise is an asset 

  • Knowledge about current and upcoming ESG legislations like CSRD, CSDDD, and the German Supply Chain Act is desirable 

  • Project management experience, ideally with standardization and process roll-outs in global organizations 

  • Strong engaging and problem-solving skills and a structured way of working 

  • An in-depth understanding of end-to-end processes within procurement and/or supply chain is highly desired 

  • Strong ability to translate complex problems into simple(r) concepts and communicate effectively 

  • Collaborative, curious, entrepreneurial mindset with a positive can-do attitude 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills 

  • Exemplary personal and professional integrity 

  • Fluent in English (is a prerequisite)
