About These Opportunities

The Business School is seeking to make multiple appointments in the areas Leadership, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour to join the Management Discipline at the School. These appointments will be across a range of levels from Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor to Professor. Position 1: Associate professor, Professor In Leadership R-41326

An Associate Professor/Professor will consistently demonstrate excellence/a high level of leadership in teaching, research and service and engagement in teaching (including clinical teaching, where appropriate), research and service and engagement. An Associate Professor/Professor is expected to undertake leadership roles/demonstrate outstanding outcomes in leadership roles and have a strong/exception record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor.

As a teaching and research academic at Level D the incumbent is expected to be able to demonstrate a sustained record of outstanding impact and achievement that is internationally recognised in either teaching or research. At Level E the incumbent is expected to be able to demonstrate a sustained record of outstanding outcomes and leadership and be recognised internationally for their scholarly impact.

Position 2: Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Organizational Behaviour and/or Human Resource Management Teaching and Research - R-41330

As a Level B Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour/HRM will focus their efforts on growing their profile in teaching, research and service and engagement. At this level you may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students. As a teaching and research academic at level B will aspire to achieve national recognition in their field of research.

As a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour/HRM to focus their efforts on leveraging their established record of achievement in teaching (including clinical teaching, where appropriate), research and service and engagement. At this level the incumbent may coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and is expected to have an active and effective record of supervising Higher Degree by Research students successfully to completion as principal supervisor.

Position 3: Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Organizational Behaviour and/or Human Resource Management  - Teaching Focused R-41333

A Teaching Focused Level B Lecturer/Level C Senior Lecturer in the area of Organizational Behaviour / HRM will grow and expand their teaching impact through leadership in course coordination/lead the activities of other staff aligned with UQ values. The successful candidate will engage/maintain an active role in internal and external collaborations that enable the development of others with evidence of increasing influence teaching practices, policies, and/or knowledge.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.

  • Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.

  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.

  • Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: criminal check, education check, etc.
