Job Title: Staff Accountant
Salary: £39,000 - £45,000 (Dependent Upon Experience)
Location: Peterborough

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Accountant role within the Capital Assets team at our Caterpillar facility in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be the trusted advisor to the business, in a varied role that covers the full lifecycle of capital management.
The successful candidate will be required to work with various operational and service centre teams to support capital lifecycle processes, perform monthly and annual reporting with related presentations to senior stakeholders, as well as supporting business functions by business partnering to achieve strategic objectives, driving end to end process improvements & business insight reporting through utilisation of digital tools such as Alteryx and MS Power BI. They will be required to ensure compliance to organizational and regulatory policies with the support of a local supervisor and a corporate capital management team.
What You Will Do:
Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards in collaboration with an accounting service centre.
Utilize automated tools to support monthly analysis and reporting processes.
Support improvement projects to streamline and standardize capital processes.
Support capital related financial forecasting by business partnering with a global network of co-ordinators.
Ensure accuracy and compliance of capital lifecycle transaction requests.
Act as a trusted advisor to a variety of operational business partners at facilities around the globe.
What You Have:
Education/Experience: Educated to a degree level or qualified by experience. Working towards or completed professional certification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare accounting entries and reports using accounting methods and processes.
Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Effective communication skills: Ability to co-ordinate with a variety of business partners to ensure timely and compliant process completion, and effectively present reporting and results.
Time management: Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and deadlines.
Strong Microsoft office skills essential.
Desirable candidates may demonstrate some of the following:
Experience of data analytics and visualisation tools such as MS PowerBI, MS PowerApps or Alteryx
Experience of accounting within a manufacturing environment
Experience in supporting or leading process improvements with a lean mindset.
Experience in business partnering with operational teams.
A curiosity for processes and the desire to always improve with changing business needs
