Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll join an Agile Team working in the Omni Services division of Walmart with a focus on Dev Ops and React / React Native development.  This team focuses on bridging Online and Retail technology for Walmart, enabling shopping for services and products seamlessly across Web, Mobile Apps and In-Store technology.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • Develop features and improve code quality in our React / React Native applications.  Help define Mobile Development and React Native best practices.
  • Design and develop CI infrastructure for the build / test / deploy lifecycle of mobile and web applications using Jenkins and other tools.
  • Solution & software architecture design; plan for scalability, re-usability, platform-agnostic, disaster recovery; assist in design of solutions such that the processes/applications work in tandem for specific components/modules of a product. Evaluate trade-offs while designing a component based on the business requirements.
  • Review and provide quality feedback on team members contributions through code review.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (ex. issue, impact, criticality, root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and completing online documentation.
  • Design and develop e2e testing automation and provide guidance to team members on best practices for building testable solutions.



What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in React/React Native
  • Must be technically strong in understanding/building mobile applications with React Native and should be able to help guide technical direction the team.
  • Experience and good understanding of software at API and webservice level as well as strong knowledge of ReactJS / Redux.
  • Experience with CI tooling such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Appium, Selenium.

  • Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of open-source libraries, design patterns and micro-service architecture and unit testing. 
  • A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest features in the technologies that we leverage. 
  • An ability to solve problems independently through rigorous learning, testing and experimentation.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
