What you will do

As a member of the Johnson Controls Building Technologies & Solutions Business Unit, this person will be part of an engineering team that supports 3D, and 2D designs for HVAC control devices and equipment. This work will focus on complete design support of HVAC controls products, tests, and prototypes as per design requirements. Responsible for documenting new designs and making design documentation changes within the PLM/Windchill tool.

The person will understand documentation best practices and could manage changes and guide others through documentation completion.

How you will do it

Create ECNs, BOMs, and design FCNs as a part of our standard product documentation process.  Leverage best practices for Product Life Cycle Management System (PLM Windchill) to meet the needs of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing. Ensure quality and timeliness of design release collateral. Coordinate with design and manufacturing teams for necessary product changes. Work with the design team to create /update design standards. Maintain quality documentation as per compliance requirements.

What we look for

  • BE-Mechanical/Mechatronics- minimum 8+ years of experience in MCAD, ECN, and PLM activities in  a product or equipment manufacturing company
  • Extensive PLM knowledge and working on ECN/FCN activities and specific knowledge of PLM/Windchill
  • Update fully parametric 3D models including parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies as per design requirements
  • Creating a Family table for Part and Assembly
  • Create 2D, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and DFX as part of standard CAD package for existing products
  • Generate product and packing labels as per the requirement
  • Knowledge and experience in product development life cycle and manufacturing release processes
  • Responsible for all aspects of MCAD Engineering
  • Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, peers, and stakeholders in Global Engineering Centers
  • Able to work efficiently independently as a team member and have the capacity to work on tight deadlines with high efficiency
  • Self-learner, able to work with autonomy, readiness for foreign/domestic travel for short/long term basis

Preferred

Experience in sheet metal, plastic designing, and modelling

Good Knowledge of HVAC equipment like AHU, VAV, FCU, and its components, etc. will be an added advantage

Strong communication skills and be able to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds
