Reuters Events are looking for a Commercial Manager (AKA Sector Head) to lead a team and ensure the commercial success of their conference and content portfolios, specialising in the Sustainable Business sector. 

Our Sustainable Business conferences are renowned among professionals working in this space and are known for outlining how companies can transition business to one that supports the delivery of a clean and inclusive future. 

Our flagship events feature leading figures from the US, UK and EU governments, alongside CEOs from the likes of Unilever, Peugeot, IKEA and Rolls Royce (to name a few). These discussions are hosted in conjunction with Reuters Editorial and are published on Reuters.com and broadcast to millions across the globe.

Our events, reports, magazine and other outputs are helping companies forge the new partnerships and identify the new investments that will help companies address their social and environmental impacts - setting a new standard for 'sustainable' business. 

 

About the Role 

 

As a Commercial Manager (Sector Head) for Reuters Events, you will:  

  • Lead the sustainable business division and develop both the strategic and commercial management of our portfolio’s global series of events.   

  • Have responsibility and take accountability for the sustainable business sector's strategy and successful delivery of each project.  

  • Lead on business planning, identify new opportunities, manage research teams and build new ideas into our continually evolving business model.  

  • You’ll be key to launching new events within our sustainable business portfolio and will ensure that our world-class events meet industry needs, deliver a great customer experience and achieve our performance goals.  

  • Line manage and train a team of Conference Producers, overseeing team performance, resourcing and development. 

  • You’ll use your leadership and problem-solving skills to develop your team’s skillsets and manage the planning of their personal development. 

  • You will be supported by the senior leadership team to oversee your sector and ensure quality control, people management, resourcing and performance. 

  • Collaborate closely with Event Operations to ensure that budgets are met, and event spend is optimised.  

  • Work with sales leads and marketing management to support on sales and marketing output.  

 

About You 

You're a fit for the role of Commercial Manager (Sector Head) at Reuters Events if you have:  

  • The desire to combine your commercial acumen with your leadership skills to effectively manage a team of conference producers in our sustainable business portfolio.  

  • Demonstrable experience of managing a team to commercial success.  

  • Great communication skills with a collaborative mindset.  

  •  As part of the role you’ll be working closely with our Event Operations, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that budgets are met and that event spend is optimised, that our events are generating the required revenue through multiple channels and ensuring that our events are reaching the right people in the right way.   

  • To work collaboratively with teams across the business to deliver events successfully and think of strategic ways in which we can enhance our portfolio in line with what our customers want.   

  • A keen interest in managing and developing a team and its portfolio. You’ll be accountable for the personal development of your team and we’re looking for someone that wants to use their experience in the events industry to grow the skillsets of the wider team.
