DUTIES: Provide technical leadership to a team responsible for developing software using Java Enterprise Edition and Java; architect large scale enterprise-class web applications with a focus on workflow automation and business process management solutions; use Spring Framework tools including Spring Batch and Spring AOP to build MVC (model-view-controller) style applications; build JSON API oriented applications; program Web Services using Java, Apache AXIS, Apache CXF, and Spring WS frameworks; build web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Javascript based UI Frameworks including Angular and React; work with WebLogic Application Server and Apache web server software; install and upgrade software using Unix/Linux OS; cache data using Couchbase, OSCache, and MemCache; perform CI/CD using Concourse; process Big Data using Splunk, Hadoop, and Spark; use data streaming technologies including Kinesis and Nifi; test code using Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Postman and Newman; configure Linux/Unix servers using load balancers, Virtual IPs (VIPS), proxy servers, global load balancers, domain name servers, and HTTP; work with telecommunications systems; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software using Java Enterprise Edition and Java; architecting large scale enterprise-class web applications; using Spring Framework tools including Spring Batch and Spring AOP; building MVC (model-view-controller) and JSON API oriented applications; programming Web Services using Java, Apache AXIS, Apache CXF, and Spring WS frameworks; of which three (3) years includes building web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JavaScript based UI Frameworks including Angular and React; working with WebLogic Application Server and Apache web server software; installing and upgrading software using Unix/Linux OS; caching data using Couchbase, OSCache, and MemCache; performing CI/CD using Concourse; using data streaming technologies including Kinesis and Nifi; testing code using Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma, Postman, and Newman; of which one (1) year includes processing Big Data using Splunk, Hadoop, and Spark; configuring Linux/Unix servers using load balancers, Virtual IPs (VIPS), proxy servers, global load balancers, domain name servers, and HTTP; and working with telecommunications systems.
