In alignment with GSK Innovation, Performance and Trust (IPTC) priorities, we need to design and organise Global Finance Services to be Future Ready (FR), which can improve the lives of millions of people and offer exciting and important places to work.

The purpose of this role is to act as Champion, Owner, and Custodian of the Global ERP template from a Trading Partner Finance perspective. In doing so, you are also responsible for the template process design, and the documentation of that process design.

You will assess and articulate business requirements, analyse design options, seek out and assess solution simplification opportunities where business case justification exists. You will also monitor template adoption and adherence (in partnership with the GPO Organisation), and drive the business towards common, standard global solutions.

You would be required to benchmark (internally and externally) to incorporate best practice trends in order to support definition of both the short and long-term GSK-wide process and IT strategies to achieve performance goals. You will assess and evaluate the operating model required to effectively execute the processes within Trading Partner Finance as well as understand the wider End to End Target Operating Model - TOM (in partnership with stakeholder groups within and outside Global Finance Services).

Key Responsibilities

Define and refine the solution (i.e. system, process & data) by:

  • Continually seek to standardise and simplify the ERP template and supporting processes to reduce ongoing business and implementation costs, whilst ensuring the template and process remains compliant with any legal, fiscal or regulatory requirements
  • Develop and present (or support the presentation of) template change VPPs to the relevant governance bodies for review and approval, ensuring system design meets business requirements
  • Partner with the business to prioritise template/ process change requests, assessing those changes to determine feasibility, business benefit and business prioritisation
  • Consulting with the business to define and manage business rules, standard policies & procedures (for process, data and service), controls, key performance indicators (KPIs), system roles, target operating model and supporting organisational design
  • Ensure that global template solution documentation (BPSDs and GSOPs) are accurate and current
  • Maintain an oversight and support where necessary on training material (LSOPs, ebooks, Taxonomies etc.)

Support the vision and help to define the roadmap to drive business benefit, continuous improvement and ease of process use for the end user. Define how GSK will move from the current state to the desired future state (for the process in scope), by:

  • Establishing clear as-is understanding (issues and challenges)
  • Partnering with business and operational teams to understand the issues and challenges with the ‘current state’ and define (and execute) the roadmap to transition to the desired ‘future state’
  • Developing mechanisms to ensure operational performance of the process is optimum (e.g. helping define SLA and KPI targets for operations)
  • Continually assessing external and internal benchmark and best practice trends

Manage prioritisation and support delivery by:

  • Facilitate pre-scope assessment and solution adoption workshops
  • Identifying and managing process risks
  • Evaluating potential initiatives – assessing business / stakeholder alignment, priority, urgency, ROI etc
  • Inputting into detailed solution / system design
  • Managing the impact of new initiatives on current process and systems
  • Driving delivery for GPO led initiatives

Embed and grow organisational capability by:

  • Ensuring training material and process documentation (e.g. GSOPs, Taxonomies, LSOPs) are embedded appropriately across the department.
  • Monitoring end user support, training and communication effectiveness.
  • Assessing end user feedback to identify systemic issues.

Optimise extraction of solution value by:

  • Monitoring operational efficiency and effectiveness KPIs (baseline and targets) – partnering with business and operational teams to take corrective action, as required
  • Assessing process adoption and process adherence / compliance for relevant processes, working with Business Leads to trigger appropriate interventions, as required
  • Verifying that business case benefits are realised for system, process and data related improvements
