The Cloud Ops team is responsible for keeping the engines running at peak performance. On any given day, the Zscaler cloud processes tens of billions of transactions — scanning a petabyte of data — for 15 million users around the world. The transaction volume on the Zscaler cloud is significantly growing every quarter, yet the cloud's overall stability just continues to improve, and that is directly attributable to the Cloud Ops team's deep expertise and it's passion about reliability, availability, and scalability. The senior Network Engineer will be part of a remote team, and can be based anywhere within Netherlands. They will report to the EMEA Manager, Network Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be a member of Zscaler' s global network engineering team and will be responsible for deploying, operating, monitoring, and supporting the Zscaler worldwide production network inside multiple data centers.
  • Operating enterprise or telecom data center networks.
  • This position will have to participate in on-call rotation in weekends and holidays.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • English proficiency in both written and spoken form is mandatory.
  • Experience working with ticketing and inventory systems.
  • Experience in remote Data Centre operations.
  • 5 or more years of experience with high-speed fiber Ethernet networks.
  • Expert level hands-on experience in BGP routing operation, design, and troubleshooting in both IPv4 and IPv6 for large scale Enterprise or Telecom networks.
  • Deep knowledge of DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec protocols with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Real life experience troubleshooting L2 and L3 Ethernet networks.
  • In-depth understanding of networking concepts including performance parameters of TCP/IP stack and hands-on experience of IP-packet analysis using Wireshark.
  • Deep knowledge on Unix/Linux/FreeBSD, and Network equipment and the functions they perform.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • fluency in any other language.
  • Familiarity with Unix Shell scripts. Python or Perl can be a plus.
  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure / Service Provider, JNCIP-ENT / JNCIP-SP or related certifications.
