Working hours: Willingness to work in 24x7 & night shifts as required

Job Description:

System Administrator – Server Operating System SME
5 - 7 years LINUX/UNIX expertise and qualifications noted below
Job Requirements:
• Certification and functional knowledge of Linux Operating System (RedHat Enterprise Linux)
• Experience with mount/unmount processes related to NAS file based storage services
• Availability to work weekend green zone implementation periods across multiple time zones (NAM, EMEA, APAC)
• Ability to multi-task working on multiple host/array deliveries in parallel
• Experience working LDAP, LDIF, CMP configurations
• Familiarity with scripted SA processes for configdb, automount, autofs management
• Expertise working with logical volume managers like native Linux LVM and Veritas VxVM
• Familiarity with cluster solutions: Veritas Cluster Server (VCS for Linux) and IBM PowerHA (for AIX)
• Familiarity with Oracle ASM (storage manager for Oracle Database) and Sybase RAW devices
• Familiarity with scripting BASH, perl, Python with ability to create scripts to facilitate required tasks
• Provide regular communication to management and stakeholders of risks, issues and mitigating actions
• Liaise with stakeholders to arrange downtime windows and provide information required for Change Management processing as required
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues to business users in a language they understand
• Expertise in analyzing and resolving issues based on troubleshooting post-migration and after server reboot
• Proficiency in use of multipathing software (native RedHat DeviceMapper, native AIX solution, EMC PowerPath, VxDMP),
Storage Experience:
• Expertise in providing technical System Administration support for file (NAS) and block (SAN) storage data migration activities
• High level understanding of storage concepts including RAID, LUN, masking, SAN zoning, HBAs, FC ports, cabling, flash storage
• Migration of NAS and SAN storage, LUNs replacement. Preparation, requirements, online/offline methods, possible impact for applications
• Understanding of SAN storage protection requirements including snapshots, synchronous/asynchronous replication
• Capable of analyzing server performance issues as relates to storage infrastructure
