About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland's Regional Training Hubs (RTH), funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health through the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program, aim to cultivate a new generation of rural and regional doctors by supporting medical students and prevocational doctors interested in these areas. Located in Central Queensland, Wide Bay, and Southern Queensland, these hubs are part of the Darling Downs – South West Medical Pathway (DDSW MP), a collaborative initiative with the University of Southern Queensland, Darling Downs Health, and the South West Hospital and Health Service.

The Head of the RTH SQ position provides academic leadership within this pathway, focusing on improving the transition from medical school to internship, enhancing recruitment and retention, and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment to ensure that medical students and junior doctors thrive in regional settings.

This is a teaching focused position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ’s Criteria for Academic Performance.
