Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide pricing reporting, insight and tactical modifications to retails, including competitive analysis, to ensure consistent execution of Rite Aid pricing strategy across multiple product categories with the objective of simultaneously maximizing financial return while minimizing markdown and operations impacts. Frequent independent judgments are essential. Process creation and improvement is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze price survey, margin, and movement data based upon Rite Aid (RA) category pricing strategy and rules, maximizing competitiveness and margin achievement while minimizing operational impact to determine the appropriate price for each assigned item in each assigned product category for each RA defined market (price zone) according to its unique strategy directive.
  • Monitor and react to cost and competitive changes and proactively develop pricing opportunities to drive profitability.
  • Analyze geographic, demographic, and competitive data to recommend price strategy adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Category Teams to ensure alignment of pricing and category strategy. Assist in training Category Management staff in pricing concepts and methodology.
  • Negotiate a common approach and plan that is consistent with the overall RA pricing strategy and share market observations with the Category team to provide insight to pricing actions.
  • Act upon exception reports and store feedback tickets to ensure pricing complies with RA pricing rules and policies. Provide input regarding item relationships to be established in the RA systems.

Area of Specialization (Marketing, Finance, Pharmacy, Engineering/IT, etc)

Bachelor Degree - Required

Business, Math, Computer/Data Science or Economics

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required or Preferred

- Advanced proficiency in Excel - Required

-Advanced proficiency in at least one structured query language (DB2 SQL, MSACCESS SQL, 1010 XML, etc.) - Preferred

-Ability to collaborate and negotiate with various levels of the organization in a positive manner - Required

-Basic proficiency in Word and PowerPoint - Required

-Experience in process design and change management - Preferred

-Experience in database design and data management - Preferred

-Statistical Analysis methodology - Preferred

-Knowledge of Category Management business processes (including both Strategic and Tactical definitions and actions) - Preferred

-Experience in managing various product categories and how consumers react to various merchandising activities (Pricing, Promotion, Assortment, Placement) - Preferred

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Required

-Experience in price optimization and competitive intelligence software - Preferred

The typical starting pay range for this position is between $60,190 - $69,000 annually, although wages can very based on experience and geography.
