Department Overview:

TD’s Digital Strategy, Innovation and Payments focuses on accelerating TD's innovation agenda to position TD for the future.  The team is comprised of 4 pillars:  Digital Strategy which connects Line of Business strategies to ensure we have an Enterprise Digital Strategy that positions TD to win in the market; Enterprise Payments spanning strategy through to large-scale execution of payments initiatives; Enterprise Innovation & Design which steers our innovation agenda and leads the Design Center of Excellence; and External Ecosystems.

External Ecosystems is focused on embracing new data-sharing disruptions to shape ecosystems and develop emerging business models. External Ecosystems drives success through leading TD's Open Banking effort, advancing US and Canada's Digital Identity infrastructure, delivering emerging capabilities including marketplaces and data exchange, and fostering new partnerships and strategic relationships in the innovation space.

Job Description:

As the Vice-President, Open Banking, you will develop and refine TD Open Banking strategy, with emphasis on data aggregation IN strategy, gaining buy-in from senior leadership and ensure alignment and consistency across partner Journeys and Platforms, in addition, you will:

  • Contribute meaningfully to enterprise dialog on Open Banking at the Senior Executive level
  • Lead the vision, development and delivery of open banking use cases across the enterprise in collaboration with lines of business
  • Represent TD at industry forums and provide thought leadership internally and externally
  • Develop and support TD's advocacy position in collaboration with Government Relations teams
  • Entrench External Ecosystems in the Next Evolution of Work (NEW) agile delivery construct, ensuring the engagement model within key Journeys and Platforms enable continued organizational momentum along key initiatives
  • Lead relationship and contract negotiation with third party data providers
  • Develop architecture target state for Open Banking data IN and developer portal capabilities in collaboration with Technology Architecture and Engineering, and Data as a Service teams

Specific Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term

  • Significant depth of digital experience and building technology solutions in a variety of contexts

  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop and articulate value proposition on innovative concepts

  • Experience steering complex projects within risk appetite of the bank

  • Highly effective communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees

  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision. Creative thought leadership required while listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of vision

  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams

  • Excellent relationship management skills, effectively supporting multiple complex relationships with a superior ability to make things happen using positive influence

  • Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels

  • Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
