Job Description:

Position Summary

The Business Continuity Manager will provide proactive direction, support and oversight on all aspects of the Business Continuity Program. Responsible for ensuring the organization’s ability to respond to a business interruption, the Business Continuity Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving an enterprise business continuity framework including oversight of enterprise and business line Business Impact Analysis (BIA) documents, Risk Assessments, Plan Development, and Plan Exercises. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure alignment with established business continuity framework.
  • Work with business line resources to develop and maintain Business Continuity documentation, including but not limited to business impact documents, business continuity plans, risk assessments, and plan exercises.
  • Develop and maintain document templates to ensure complete and accurate collection of business line data needed for recovery operations.
  • Work with enterprise leadership to develop and maintain business continuity documentation including but not limited to corporate policies, standards, governance models, and program procedures.
  • Identify and when required, incorporate new business functions, systems and processes into the business continuity program
  • Coordinate with facility and business functions to perform Business Continuity Program activities such as Business Impact Analysis to identify and document recovery requirements for critical business functions/processes
  • Develop and deploy reporting for business line leadership and executive visibility
  • Collaborate closely with the Compliance & Information Security teams to ensure the business continuity program is meeting and delivering all needed elements of existing or future client, audit, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate closely with the vendor management program to ensure that vendor continuity plans sufficiently address the continuity of critical vendor dependencies
  • Plan and manage the selection of alternate business facilities and resources needed for recovery operations
  • Develop, train and implement Incident Management commanders and teams at each significant business site. 
  • Create Business Continuity Plans for new sites in support of new business acquisitions
  • Coordinate with IT Disaster Recovery during annual disaster recovery testing to confirm Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans are viable.
  • Create, manage and communicate employee awareness materials and presentations.

Job Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years proven experience in risk and business continuity management
  • Ability to communicate clearly to various levels of management (including executive management), across various business functions
  • Capability to manage many streams of work simultaneously
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent personnel leadership skills – proven ability to build, develop and motivate a team
  • Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or other business continuity professional certification (desired)
  • Extensive knowledge of Auto-notification tools for call lists and recovery teams
  • Extensive knowledge of business continuity/information availability/disaster recovery best practices, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and ability to think creatively, proactively, and independently; ability to motivate, lead, and interact with a variety of persons throughout the organization; ability to facilitate meetings, prepares reports, and manages data.
  • Familiarization with BCM Frameworks such as ISO22301, industry standards including ISO/IEC 24762:2008, NFPA 1600
  • Ability to lead Business Continuity recovery in response to a business interruption
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to interface with management and staff at all levels within the organization and to deal with suppliers for business continuity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Annual Pay Range:

110,500 - 145,000 USD
