Position Summary:

 

Rotex is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Cincinnati, OH area. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for visiting customers in the field to provide maintenance support and troubleshooting to machines in service, in addition to other services such as new machine start-ups, machine assessments, and training customers. From these visits, you will recommend parts and service solutions to improve machine uptime, maintenance and operation. When not traveling, the Field Service Engineer will perform various service tasks including, but not limited to: completing post-visit documentation including trip reports and expense reports, develop parts quotes, and troubleshooting customer issues via telephone, email and online meetings.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Troubleshoot machine downtime and perform overall machine assessments and provide recommendations for repair or improved productivity. 

  • Perform new machine start-up inspections and operations training. 

  • Oversee onsite parts removal, installation, and assembly. 

  • Recommend parts and service solutions to improve machine uptime, maintenance, and operation. 

  • Provide written post-visit reports with a visit overview, observations, recommendations, and accompanying quote for recommended parts. 

  • Based on field observations and customer feedback, provide Rotex Engineering with equipment design and feature recommendations. 

  • Maintain a reasonable “on-call” status to answer customer questions via phone and email. 

  • Assist in developing department documents, standards, and processes as necessary. 

  • Other duties may be assigned. a

Basic Qualifications: 

  • HS degree or AS Degree.
  • 2-5 years field service technician experience in machinery, electrical and fabrication repairs and maintenance.
  • Welding ability a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time. 

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Microsoft CRM  

  • Basic knowledge of Solidworks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) or similar platforms.
