ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Engineer, Operational Excellence & Lean Manufacturing will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across Peloton's manufacturing operations. Based in Taichung, Taiwan, this role will focus on collaborating with third-party manufacturers to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and implement lean manufacturing principles to achieve world-class manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational excellence, lean manufacturing, and process improvement, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for driving change.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies with third-party manufacturers.
    • Identify, analyze, and eliminate waste in manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in production.

  • Lean Manufacturing:
    • Promote a culture of lean thinking and operational excellence throughout third-party manufacturing partners.
    • Conduct value stream mapping to identify areas of improvement and streamline production processes.
    • Implement lean tools and techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing.

  • Operational Excellence KPIs:
    • Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational excellence, such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time, lead time, first pass yield, scrap rate, and downtime.
    • Set targets and benchmarks for continuous improvement in collaboration with third-party manufacturers.
    • Utilize KPIs to monitor progress and drive data-driven decision-making to enhance manufacturing performance.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Utilize data-driven approaches to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
    • Prepare and present reports on operational performance and improvement projects to senior management.

  • Training & Development:
    • Train and mentor team members and third-party manufacturers on lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the manufacturing team.
    • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote operational excellence.

  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to drive improvement initiatives.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement projects.
    • Act as a change agent to promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational excellence, lean manufacturing, or process improvement roles.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification required.
  • Proven track record of leading and implementing continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and third-party manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in using lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on achieving results.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English is required.
