JR56182 Process Control Engineer (SPC/FDC)

As a Statistical Process Control/ Fault Detection and Classification/Control (SPC/FDC) Engineer, you will be responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of the SPC/FDC program at Micron Singapore Backend.

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

Implementing SPC/FDC Business Process and Best Known Methods (BKMs)

  • Understand the different types of limits used in SPC/FDC system and drives the proper use of limits throughout the engineering community
  • Understand proper control techniques and enforces use for critical parameters, as needed to detect quality deviations
  • Works with engineering community to set appropriate goals for SPC/FDC metrics (CpK, %OOC, etc.) on a semi-annual basis or as needed
  • Apply worldwide SPC/FDC Business Process to enforce use of best known methods with regards to SPC/FDC
  • Regularly attends Process Engineering and/or RDA/Metro meetings to enable the sourcing and elimination of common cause variation
  • Act as Quality Engineering representative for control limit modification approvals
  • Frequently reviews critical inline parameters to source variation

SPC/FDC Training Development

  • Collaborate with local Workforce Development team to deliver any new updates to the Business Process, local policies, or procedures
  • Develop and deliver new training material, as necessary

SPC/FDC Metrics Definition and Delivery

  • Partner with local engineering organizations to define SPC/FDC related goals on a regular basis
  • Provide performance metrics to local engineering teams when available for prioritization
  • Automate metric calculations, when necessary
  • Provide a weekly update to the management for CpK/OOC/OOS/ other related metrics performance
  • Internal and External Audit Preparation and Participation
  • Conducts internal audits of inline parameters and the compliance of each parameter to the specifications based on criticality with results then being shared with affected engineering organizations
  • Prepares material to be reviewed by Customer Auditors during onsite customer visits
  • Participates in audits (Micron Auditors and External Customer Auditors) that evaluate the SPC/FDC program and works to close any Non-Conformances or Opportunities For Improvement defined by the auditor(s)
  • Participates in Control Manufacturing/Maintain Process Business Process as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, and/or Engineering with an emphasis in Applied Statistics
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of applied statistical methods
  • Desire to identify and/or work on data analysis projects that will improve product (NAND, DRAM, etc.) yield and quality, reduce costs and cycle time, and optimize business processes
  • Ability to extract data from different databases via SQL and other query languages and applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with small, big, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Ability to teach short-courses in applied statistics to engineers and technical management
  • Capable of visually summarizing and presenting advanced analytical results and monetary benefits to middle and executive management
  • General understanding of the back end operations for component assembly, component test, module/SSD assembly & test, and Finished Goods would be advantageous
