Senior Enterprise Systems Analyst, National Medical Care, Inc., a Fresenius Medical Care N.A. company, Lexington, Massachusetts (Remote)

Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and modifying systems including mapping, coding, testing, debugging, installing and maintaining computer systems as well as for collaborating with key users to support existing applications and implement solutions to improve business processes, including ongoing project-based development work to support existing applications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzing business application requirements of various scope and complexities in order to support business management objectives.
• Utilizing professional systems analytics concepts and company objectives to resolve complex technical issues in creative and effective ways.
• Designing, writing specifications, developing programs, testing, documenting, implementing and supporting software applications and systems of varying degrees of complexity while maintaining the highest quality possible.
• Supporting and conferring with the business community to determine business and technical requirements.
• Applying current technology to solve technical problems and ensure system and application performance is optimized.
• Documenting operational, system and support requirements ensuring adherence to Corporate IT Standards.
• Reviewing and analyzing business requirements, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance testing, and reviewing Java codes with other Software Developers. 
• Monitoring new system releases, enhancements, patches and upgrades and ensuring proper fixes are delivered.
• Engineering computer systems to be in compliance with various government regulations including the FDA, Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Exercising judgment in selecting software design and development methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Serving as a team lead including mentoring junior-level Software Analysts.

Education Experience and Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst on enterprise systems.  Must also have 5 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

• Core Java/J2EE including IO, Multi-threading, Collections, JDBC, Servlets, EJB, Struts and Spring as well as Java web application development, programming tools (Eclipse, Oracle SQL Developer, SVN Repository), structured development, deploying patches, upgrades, monitoring and maintenance of Java web applications instances in a Linux environment;
• Web services including SOAP and REST as well as SOA implementations and Object relational mapping concepts and tools including Hibernate and iBATIS.
• Application servers, specifically IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat and JBoss Application Servers;
• Relational database concepts and working with Oracle and SQL queries;
• Development and execution of test plans, test cases, documentation and troubleshoot of software bugs, troubleshooting by using thread dump and application logs and QA methodologies, tools, and processes; 
• Unix/Linux scripting and commands, and WinSCP;Web development (HTML, CSS, Java, XML, JSP, SQL, JavaScript, and Web Services).

Note that this is a telecommuting position working from a home office.  May reside anywhere in the United States.
