Location: Vancouver, WA is preferred; Remote is possible

As the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting, you will report to the Controller & Vice President of Accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Director of Revenue Accounting to lead the company through various elements of transformation as we continue our rapid growth, including streamlining processes to close our books faster, scaling of financial systems and other workflows, integrate acquisitions, and ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP.

 

The responsibilities of this opportunity include:

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SOX internal control requirements.
  • Build and lead a high-performing revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities in areas such as team building, interpersonal skills, relationship management, and business acumen.
  • Direct the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Provide strategic guidance on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition and disclosures.
  • Partner with the financial systems team to drive innovation in revenue accounting processes through automation and technology enhancements. Ensure the scalability and efficiency of the revenue accounting function to support business growth.
  • Establish strong partnerships with sales and sales operations teams to ensure efficient contract management and revenue recognition processes. Provide strategic oversight on contract modifications, ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Deliver strategic insights to senior management by analyzing financial results and identifying key trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to develop accurate revenue forecasts and models, providing critical input for strategic planning.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential financial and compliance risks.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by the manager.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Current CPA license
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Management experience 5 + years
  • Experience managing multiple accounting projects and staff simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of how to navigate write-offs including prevention & mitigation when it occurs.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, including strong technical understanding of ASC 606 and 340; confidence in researching technical accounting literature and SEC guidance and drafting of accounting memorandums
  • Ability to learn and interpret new accounting guidance and apply to different situations
  • Demonstrated ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes
  • Experience building new capabilities and process optimization, working with multiple stakeholders
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and staff in a multicultural environment.
  • Track record of achieving results with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Advanced finance or accounting degree.
  • 6+ years with a national accounting firm or comparable experience at a public company
  • Direct experience with SaaS or other subscription-based software company a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite's Advanced Revenue Management module

Below is the US base salary for this position. Additional compensation such as Bonus, Commission, Equity and other benefits may also apply.
