About The Role
The DevOps Engineering Manager at ButcherBox will oversee a team of DevOps Engineers to maintain our cloud infrastructure, handle CI/CD pipelines, and work with Data, IT, CyberSecurity, and other Engineering teams. This position is crucial in supporting our software engineering efforts and managing our cloud resources. 

Responsibilities:
•Lead and mentor the DevOps team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
•Strategically manage cloud infrastructure in Azure to support organizational goals
•Drive improvements in observability and automated infrastructure capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, reliability and security
•Oversee the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficiency and reliability
•Ensure the DevOps roadmap aligns the team’s goals to company OKR initiatives, while prioritizing tech debt reduction
•Coordinate with Engineering Managers and stakeholders on cross-team initiatives to ensure alignment and collaboration 
•Champion a consistent DevOps approach across production, staging, QA, and development environments to improve software quality and stability
•Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams to uphold infrastructure security and compliance standards
•Encourage professional learning and development within the DevOps team, aligning with ButcherBox's core values of relentless improvement, humility, accountability, authenticity, and customer obsession

Requirements:
•Proven experience in people management, including team development and management via regular 1:1s, performance reviews and quarterly check-ins 
•Familiarity with Agile Sprint methodology and DevOps systems development life cycle
•Ability to work closely and collaboratively with multiple teams and engineering leads
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to approach problems from multiple viewpoints
•5+ years' experience with Linux-based containerization and Kubernetes clusters
•5+ years' experience with cloud infrastructure as code development
•Knowledge of networking and security best practices in cloud environments
•Familiarity with database management best practices
