Software Systems Engineering Program Manager

Description -

This engineering position is based in Singapore, reporting to the senior manager of R&D. This role drives various engineering teams in delivery of designs, analyses, programs, debugs, troubleshoots and modifications for software applications for Personal Systems’ products, driving continuous improvement to customers’ experience. Formulates and defines of system scope and objectives for assigned projects combining knowledge and disciplines of computing system (e.g. program stack, memory management, CPU, I/O and networking utilization, coding, testing, debugging and documentation). Develops and maintain advanced knowledge of computing system integration, innovate new methods to HP owned software, driving process improvements and new policies establishment. Makes recommendations and/or decisions on software and hardware configurations and developments

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple project teams of other software engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.

  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.

  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.

  • Identify areas of improvement in executing defined solutions and defines path-forward actions

  • Communicate program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders and executives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages C/ C++/Java/ JavaScript/Python etc

  • Level of Work experience will consummate with job level assigned. ▪ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.

  • Experience in platform development and priority setting, abilities for driving root cause and solutions.

  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.

  • Strong understanding of how software is being used or deployed in IT environment

  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Certified Software Systems Engineer (CSSE)

  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
