Replicated is a Commercial Software Distribution Platform. Replicated helps software vendors distribute their applications into self-hosted environments like VPC, on-prem, air gap, and more. With a suite of tools ranging from installation, to testing, to licensing and support, Replicated is the best way to operationalize and scale the distribution of Kubernetes applications into any enterprise environment.
Our customers include KNIME, Puppet, Smartbear, BigID, Swimlane, and many other fast-growing enterprise software vendors.
Replicated is committed to cultivating an efficient, respectful workplace. We know that innovation thrives on teams where diverse points of view come together to solve hard problems in ways that are just now possible. As such, we explicitly seek people that bring diverse life experiences, diverse educational backgrounds, diverse cultures, and diverse work experiences.
We are fully remote and plan to stay that way! We're open to any state in the US. In addition, for some roles, we're open to candidates in Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team! Our Engineers contribute to every stage of building the Replicated delivery and management platform. They implement, test, and deploy new enhancements and updates to our products.
As a member of the development team you will get to use cutting-edge technologies and emerging open source tools and standards. Working with exciting tools like Kubernetes and Helm, you’ll help us continue to build the next generation of multi-premise features for ISVs and Enterprise customers.
Check out our YouTube channel to get an idea of what we are building next!
Our goal is to make on-prem installations as easy as SaaS, which requires everything to work perfectly in a wide variety of environments with minimal restrictions on local customisations. As a software engineer in the Compatibility Matrix product team, you'll be enabling our customers to test and develop their applications across a range of different Kubernetes distributions, highlighting the differences between them. This is a very broad role, involving working with a diverse range of technologies in a fast paced, results-driven environment.
The team mixes software development, platform, and customer success backgrounds, and regularly interfaces with the other teams within Replicated. All Replicated products rely on each other to form a successful whole, as such our folks regularly use our own products to ensure we deeply understand the whole set.
You'll primarily be working on our back end API services and our custom developed hypervisor service running on bare metal in a datacenter, both written in Go. Additionally, there is a supporting CLI and set of Github actions, Terraform modules, and potentially other tooling to go with these.
Part of our engineering philosophy is to remain close to the customer. As such, our software engineers take a 25% ownership of support for their product line, directly working with customers where issues arise. This is used to feed back into our design choices, as well as working with feature requests and bugs.
The Replicated product process involves first deeply understanding the problem to solve, then creating solutions that our customers love that also work for the business. This involves being ready to make very quick prototypes to show to customers, getting insightful feedback, and reworking before any code is even written.
Our stack includes Go, Kubernetes, React and more. You’ll get an opportunity to work across the stack and develop software for our highly technical user-base of software developers. Our engineers learn something new every day and are encouraged to contribute and work closely with their Product Manager to iterate through ideas and implementations.
Our development group within engineering is organized in the form of pods. Our pods are full stack teams with clear areas of ownership within the product. We encourage and support teams to own their product metrics and focus on delivering value to our customers.
What Replicated offers:
A learning culture that is anchored with a growth mindset and curiosity
Remote work - build a comfortable setting that works for you
Enthusiastic teams who love what they do
What you’ll be doing:

Mentor and be mentored, growing and investing in each other's growth is a key part of our culture.
Be curious about everything we deliver and the problems we are solving for our customers.
Our product and engineering culture is ‘Inspired’ oriented. We embrace opportunities to share with and learn from our customers, so we better understand how the products are being used and discover opportunities to innovate. Engineers are a key part of this conversation, joining calls to watch the product in use, receive direct customer feedback, and ideate on possible solutions.
