We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Director who will be responsible for an engineering team in Argentina developing a strategic and transformational project for the Proofpoint Flagship Security product.  They will make a highly visible contribution to the product used by many recognized large enterprise companies across the world.  The team will work closely with development teams and product management based in multiple sites in the world, and will require active communication with them.

Your day-to-day

• Handle hiring, mentoring, work on project planning, career growth, and performance management.
• Motivate and inspire the team to achieve excellence in design, implementation, quality and deliver superior product features.
• Lead day-to-day activities of engineering team using Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Lead and participate in the requirement gathering, architecture, design and development activities.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of high value, complex software projects, including requirements analysis, development, testing and production support.
• Assign tasks based on team objectives and priorities, ensuring team members have clearly defined short- and long-term goals.
• Coordinate with US based engineering teams to deliver end to end solutions for complex software projects.
• Build the leadership team to provide both high level and low-level technical guidance to the team members as appropriate.
• Be an active member of the engineering leadership team contributing to strategy, evaluating and reporting performance and trends, recommending improvements, building team ethos, and collaborating positively to develop and retain talent across the entire team.

What you bring to the team

• Significant experience working in a team lead or development lead role.
• Experience working on mission critical, large enterprise software.
• Experience coordinating with multiple teams to manage dependencies and timelines.
• Demonstrate ability to understand and work with complex product architectures and deployments.
• A track record for delivering high quality, high performance, scalable software.
• A history of hiring and developing world class Engineers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• An energetic and positive attitude.

Desirable:

• Exposure to SaaS-based product delivery.
• Experience working as part of an agile software development team.
• In depth knowledge of email technology and LDAP
• Exposure to REST/JSON based APIs
