The Job Details are as follows:

The Legal Administrator has primary responsibility for the organization and maintenance of OCLC's legal files, preparation and maintenance of corporate documents, preparation and processing of contracts, and other administrative tasks for the OCLC Legal Department.

This position is key to supporting OCLC’s global transactional practice, which supports OCLC’s ability to complete the sales contracting process, negotiate contracts with vendors for IT tools, and develop relationships with partners around the world. The role also provides higher level administrative support to the legal team to allow the attorneys to focus on legal matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support for the Vice President, General Counsel and the OCLC Legal Department.
  • Responsible for following standard processes to review, prepare, process and store OCLC contracts and other legal documents.
  • Provides assistance in significant legal matters such as due diligence matters related to acquisitions and/or divestitures, Board of Trustees governance matters, and Legal team management.
  • Manages the day-to-day contract processing for the Legal team, including preparation of standard documents and reviewing new agreements/documents to determine changes from previous drafts.
  • Drafts correspondence for OCLC and the Vice President.

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years in position responsible for workflow management within a Corporate Legal Department and five or more years as a Legal Assistant in a corporate or law firm environment
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills, team-oriented attitude, and superior attention to detail
  • Skilled in the use of technology

Desired but not Required:

  • Associates degree or paralegal certification
  • Experience with a contract management system (e.g., Cobblestone) and electronic signature software (e.g., DocuSign)
  • This position requires an individual able to interact with management on every level, to act independently, and to maintain the highest degree of professionalism in every aspect of the position
  • Management of a multi-task workload, emergency response as required to needs of the Vice President, General Counsel
