As an Associate Architect – Network Architecture within Platform Engineering, you will report to the Principal Network Architect. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Associate Network Architect to join our Network Architecture team. You will be responsible for creating network architectures and patterns based on business requirements and industry technology trends. You will also work with and mentor engineers on supporting teams to provide network solutions more quickly and efficiently across our enterprise, data center and public cloud estates. You will join our Platform Engineering organization, a fast-paced, energetic, and high performing team at the heart of Thomson Reuters.

About the role:

In this opportunity as a Associate Network Architect, you will: 

  • Own the vision and architecture for all Thomson Reuters on premise data center networks including wired connectivity, ILO, WAN, internet connectivity and aspects of network security.
  • Work with other teams on integration of prem data centers for any new mergers or acquisitions
  • Collaborate with other architects to collectively define and own the vision for the network capabilities/services, aligning to company strategy and evangelizing throughout Thomson Reuters 
  • Drive cohesion, standards, and best practices across platform services and capabilities in collaborations with application teams, security, compliance, and external vendors 
  • Work with our external network partners to provide guidance, direction and governance
  • Develop and document repeatable patterns for consumption by engineering and application teams.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to understand roadmaps, features and issues
  • Have the drive to expand your traditional network experience into public cloud platforms and network security

About You 

You are a fit for the role of Associate Architect – Network Architecture, if your background includes:

  • Minimum of 10 years of network experience in traditional networking, with a route/switch and data centers
  • At least 3 years' experience with the design, deployment and support of Cisco ACI fabrics
  • Proficiency in all aspects of networking within production on prem data centers including routing, switching, WAN connectivity
  • Knowledge of enterprise office networking technologies such as SDWAN, Meraki and Zscaler
  • Knowledge of networking within cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI or a strong desire to learn and grown into these areas.
  • Well versed in networking concepts and technologies, including DNS, Proxies, NTP, and Load balancing both on prem and in public cloud
  • Experienced with network security aspects including IDS/IPS and firewalls.     Hands on Checkpoint and Palo Alto experience is a plus.
  • Possess the ability to create and present technology roadmaps and technical documents
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and present to diverse groups across the globe.
  • Must be able to jump into any troubleshooting scenario when asked to do so
