Job Summary

This is International Logistics Operations role within India Supply Chain & Logistics team, supporting India Market.

International logistics focus on managing import and export activities. Exchanges are organized by cross-border transport, whilst applying known logistical methods. It provides logistical stakeholders with optimized solutions for exchanging goods between different countries.



Responsibilities

  • Acts as a first point of contact for all inbound shipments originating from other countries for both Air and Ocean Shipments.

  • Acts as first point of Contact for outbound Operations from India to other Countries.

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.

  • Collaborate with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely (as per agreed SLA) and efficient delivery of goods.

  • Monitor and manage shipping schedules, track shipments, and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Optimize logistics processes to minimize costs and reduce lead times without compromising quality and compliance.

  • Prepare and manage necessary documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and import/export declarations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international logistics regulations, trade agreements (FTA), and emerging industry trends.

  • Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to align logistics strategies with business goals.

  • Responsible for end-to-end Logistics right from Supplier Factory Gate to India Warehouse.

  • Resolve operational issues that may arise from the end-to-end Operations (e.g., Uplift issues, Deliver Order Issues, LSP Service issues, Cargo Manifest Regulations, Freight payments, Cargo Arrival Notice and all Forwarder related issues) at all major Ports of India. (ex, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Kolkata)

  • Engages with other functions and organizations to resolve issues (e.g., sales teams, Planning, Procurement, supply chain) as they relate to customer support.

  • Contributes to efforts to optimize current processes, often collaborating with other groups within HP to improve day-to-day activities.

  • Responsible for Tracking Logistics service provider KPI’s on regular intervals.



Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree

  • Experience of 15~20 years with the major focus on Supply Chain & Logistics.


Preferred Certifications

  • Certification in Supply Chain, Project management or lean six Sigma will be a added advantage


Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey medium impact messages clearly (verbal, written and presentation) to internal and external peers and management. Mastery in English and as well as Local languages as required.

  • Ability to manage India Customs Compliance for Inbound Shipments and acts applicable for International Logistics.

  • Intermediate understanding of moderately complex internal operational issues.

  • S4 Knowledge is desired.

  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge is required

  • Developed problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Broad knowledge of the end-to-end process of Supply Chain operations.

  • Developing knowledge of local legal compliance issues.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to structure and apply developed organizational skills to manage daily operational issues.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with Incoterms and global shipping routes is preferred.

  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to logistics challenges.
