That’s Nice, But What’s the Job?
In short, as a remote Director, IT Solutions for the Software Engineering groups at DriveTime, you’ll be responsible for leading the engineering teams that create custom software solutions for a line of business. You will work with a wide variety of business and IT leaders to help your teams achieve their technology goals in an organized and timely manner.

- Act as a strategic & technical liaison within a specific line of business
- Transform business problems into technical solutions
- Intimate familiarity with software development KPI's and how to use them to drive meaningful change with your teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate amongst both technical & non-technical stakeholders while driving alignment; recognizes and snuffs out subjectivity
- Understands that expectations are at the core of misalignment and proactively manages expectations across disparate stakeholders, roles, disciplines, and teams
- Capable of understanding technology, business strategy, and how the two need to intersect to maximize value
- Create, own, and communicate relevant roadmap details that deliver on larger scale features across numerous stakeholders that are both strategic and technical
- Work with Product and Engineering groups to plan out technical initiatives 1-2 years out in front of the implementation teams.
- Ensure technical decisions align with company roadmap and vision; challenge the engineering teams as needed
- Foster a collaborative and transparent work environment
- Ability to navigate both the quantitative and qualitative to shape team and product-line outcomes
- Ample exposure and familiarity collating data, aggregating data, distilling data, and finding ways to report on the data for engineering team consumption
- Comfortability challenging the status quo while remaining pragmatic when doing so
- Organization is at your core both personally & professionally
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 10+ years of experience in custom software delivery with leadership responsibilities.
- Extensive experience & strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (Epics, Features, Stories, Tasks, etc…) along with what level of detail you need for each to be successful
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly shifting environment
- Bachelor's degree required
