Job Summary

The Red Hat Hybrid Platforms BU is looking for a highly motivated Product Marketing Management candidate to join the OpenShift product marketing team. This position is responsible for creating the top level marketing messaging for OpenShift and clearly articulating the core value proposition and how OpenShift achieves value for the customer and helps solve their problems. The role is expected to understand the market, the competition and customer pain points/problems and to use this information to build a go-to-market strategy. This role will develop and execute on specific marketing plans and activities for core OpenShift inclusive of our layered services supporting DevOps toolsets (CI/CD, GitOps, serverless, etc) to establish, enhance or distinguish OpenShift within the competitive arena and qualify the product as a comprehensive, consistent, and trusted application development platform. Additionally this role will develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace as well as support market research, monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs. 

Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) need to be highly collaborative and willing to work with large, cross functional groups to align various business stakeholders around messaging and marketing activities. PMMs work with global teams including product management, technical marketing, global marketing and more to ensure the success of the product and its marketing tactics. Understanding and willingness to learn a variety of marketing tools to better understand and make data driven decisions to target and market to OpenShift customers and products will also be required.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop product messaging and validate messaging through customer surveys, analyst inquiries, sales interviews, etc. to understand and create high quality content. Document market trends and document case studies that drive the product. 

  • Enables Sales Teams (account Executives) and global marketing campaigns with messaging/material to drive pipeline. 

  • Develop and execute marketing plans for new and existing OpenShift customers which may include white paper, blogs, videos, website copy, and social media.

  • Be accountable for the success of product / feature launches, as well as lead the efforts. Deliver metrics supporting the success of the launch to share with peers. 

  • Help customers onboard and adopt the OpenShift platform and quickly realize its capabilities.

  • Create and/or refresh marketing assets and content, including presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, and data sheets for new, existing, and multi product offerings.

  • Collaborate with partner business units and corporate marketing to ensure that assets are current, optimized, impacting target business outcomes, and are utilized by Red Hat marketing teams.

  • Produce internal communications and routinely update internal partners on program efforts and metrics and collaborate with corporate marketing teams to help support execution of demand generation, references, events, digital campaigns, etc. 

  • Coordinate with your peers to ensure ongoing collaboration, intense learning, and consistency in all we do.

Required Skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in marketing or BA in marketing, communications, and/or technology 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill to tell compelling stories and write simple and consumable messaging 

  • Ability to synthesize technical information from a variety of stakeholders into a coherent story / message with clearly articulated business value

  • Interpreting information to drive data-based decisions  

  • Understanding of different content needs for marketing funnel development as well as current martech practices to produce different kinds of content 

  • Excellent consensus building / driving marketing influence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with social media marketing 

  • Ability to:

    • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines  

    • Understand industry trends and best practices for both the product and for product marketing in general 

    • Analyze data to foster data-driven decisions 

    • Employ a customer focused approach 

    • Learn new technologies, such as; Google Workspace, Jira, Slack 

    • Work full-time  

    • Have passion for, curiosity about, and a desire to learn 

The salary range for this position is $31.07 - $48.22. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
