We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a customer focused Talent Acquisition specialist to join our in-house team for a 12-month fixed term contract.

We’re looking for someone who has experience recruiting for customer facing roles, ideally including branch or retail store experience. You’ll lead on talent acquisition across our branch network, collaborating with the leadership team to review the way we recruit across the network, recommending strategies and initiatives to drive attraction and deliver an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience during the hiring process.

You will be joining a team of likeminded TA professionals who are delivering some exciting pieces of work to attract top talent to Skipton Building Society and who deliver an experience focussed Talent service. We work closely with our teams across the People Function, as well as across our entire organisation, proactively engaging with our Leadership and Exec team to provide them with the best talent and insight in the current labour market. You will play a key role in supporting our strategy by attracting and pipelining the best talent through networking and market mapping.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Supporting the implementation of the overall Talent Acquisition strategy. 

  • Through or in collaboration with People Partners, working with Leadership Team Members and their teams to understand their resourcing plans and requirements, to enable proactive recruitment support. 

  • In collaboration with the Head of TA, develop the direct sourcing and attraction strategy for our branch network roles to drive quality of hire,  improve time to hire and ROI.

  • Sourcing and attracting candidates and building talent pipelines using various methods, including proactive candidate searches, social media, on-line job boards, career fairs and networking events. 

  • Supporting the attraction of talent from under-represented groups, championing and promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the recruitment process. 

  • Developing strong, positive relationships with Leaders to understand their current and future needs and provide expert advice and guidance. 

  • Preparing selection materials including online assessments such as psychometrics and supporting interviews using appropriate recruiting tools and methods. 

  • Supporting and leading additional activities and projects as agreed with the Head of TA. 

What Do We Need From You?

Skills 

  • Ability to influence at senior level. 

  • Ability to build strong relationships with various diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. 

  • Problem-solving ability - providing recommendations and solutions to fulfil resourcing requirements. 

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities such as current vacancies, evergreen sourcing and recruitment projects. 

Knowledge 

  • Understanding of candidate sourcing methods, end to end recruitment process and candidate journeys. 

  • Good understanding of how social media platforms and networking events can be used to attract and source candidates and promote our brand. 

  • Familiar with Applicant Tracking Systems, ideally Workday

Experience 

  • Previous experience of working in-house or in an agency, supporting customer facing recruitment ideally across a branch or retail store network. 

  • Experience of supporting recruitment related projects. 

  • Experience of proactive recruitment, ideally through research and headhunting techniques.
