This is a Manufacturing Chemistry role, distinct from an R&D Chemist position. The focus is on consistent production rather than novel research. Our goal is to produce a real product that reaches real customers, and the challenge lies in ensuring that it's made the same way every time. While there is some data analysis and troubleshooting involved, the role is heavily process-oriented.

  • Formulate chemical reagents from stock with direction from the appropriate Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Conduct chemical reactions for development of reagents with direction from the appropriate Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Follow International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines in the manufacture of all reagents.
  • Use good manufacturing procedures (GMP) in the manufacture of all reagents.
  • Participate in validation and verification procedures pertinent to manufacturing of reagents.
  • Participate in product/process improvement of current products.
  • Assist Supervisor and Manager in maintenance of raw material inventory.
  • Perform in process quality testing and product release testing with direction from the appropriate Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree in chemistry and/or 20 hours of lab instruction

Working Hours:

  • 1st Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Four 10-hour shifts)
  • Split Shift: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM (with a $0.50 hourly pay differential)
