The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) is an independent, international, nonprofit organization devoted to the advancement of interdisciplinary research in the social sciences through a wide variety of workshops and conferences, fellowships and grants, summer training institutes, scholarly exchanges, research, and publications. For more information, please visit our website: www.ssrc.org.
Since 1995, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has supported graduate students (“Sloan Scholars”) in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers through scholarship support, and in more recent years, through grants to individual universities that provide scholar cohorts with robust mentorship, professional development, and community support. These efforts include the University Centers of Exemplary Mentoring, Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership, and Sloan Centers for Systemic Change initiatives. The Sloan Scholars Mentoring Network (SSMN) promotes the career advancement of Sloan Scholar alumni by providing professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The SSMN currently serves as the alumni network for over 1,800 Sloan Scholar graduates.
The SSRC is seeking a program assistant to support administrative duties and program operations related to the SSMN, including communications with Sloan Scholars, event coordination, and database and financial management. The program assistant will work collaboratively with the Program Director and SSRC and SSMN program staff on all activities and will strongly contribute to initiatives that serve the entire scholar program and alumni network.
