Job Summary

The Arch Insurance Digital Product Management team has responsibility for solving human and business problems with new technology. This role drives the product strategy, product roadmap development, and market delivery/operation of the product offering in assigned business segment. The Senior Digital Product Manager will work closely with business peers and digital product management team members to effectively execute against digital initiatives. The incumbent will be an experienced dynamic, multidimensional digital professional who is strategic, technology savvy, and skilled in both product strategy and operational efficiencies.

* This is a hybrid, twice-a-week role in our Jersey City or Raleigh offices.

Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the product vision and strategic development process for assigned business segment to include product roadmap development and periodic review processes

  • Perform market research, market validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new features and functionality

  • Foster close relationships with key market constituents to validate product strategy and roadmap

  • Deeply understand the business case for proposed products and initiatives in assigned business segment, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive and risk analysis, industry best practices and product development timelines.

  • Prepare business case (financial/ROI) analysis to quantify & determine the value to the company of a current or potentially new system/application 

  • Plan, prioritize, and manage the product features and requirements from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize revenue and meet operational, financial and corporate objectives in assigned business segment demonstrating strong understanding of the business segment needs.

  • Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to ensure consistent execution of product plans following established software development methodology and processes that result in product delivery on time and in budget. Partner with business and technical teams to plan and prioritize system release and specific release content

  • Engage business partners to develop and execute action plans to address gaps

Knowledge & Skills:

  • A background in insurance industry or related business environment, commercial and specialty commercial experience is strongly preferred

  • Experience with implementation and enhancement of enterprise level underwriting and policy management platforms is required (Policy Admin Systems, Underwriting Triage, Decisioning & Analytics)

  • Experience with business process & workflow automation – using technology platforms  

  • Deep functional understanding of insurance product lifecycle, including submission intake, pre-underwriting and Quote, bind, and issue activities

  • Extensive experience working within Agile methodologies, product development strategy and tactics

  • Broad experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions for building best in class digital products

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle development

  • Strong ability to evaluate, analyze and interpret the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources

  • Ability to be both strategic and tactical in day-to-day interactions

  • Strong understanding of technologies utilized in the industry and the ability to see & advise on their impact

  • Strong diplomatic and consensus building skills

  • Strong ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, understandable way  

  • Strong ability to overcome internal barriers and negotiate resource constraints to produce successful digital initiatives

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Relevant experience working with 3rd party vendors to deliver results

  • Strong ability to establish credibility, influence and effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders.

  • Strong ability to interact and partner at all levels across the organization

  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and rapidly changing environment. 

Education & Experience:

  • Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or related field (or equivalent in experience) with 7 to 10 years or related experience.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$150,000 - $200,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.  The above range may be modified in the future
