Trade Support – Contracts Analyst – Houston

Overview of Role

Gunvor is seeking a motivated individual who is ready to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world environment.  The individual will support the deal life-cycle process with the timely preparation and delivery of contracts for all commodities traded by Gunvor USA, as well as verify broker confirmations and counterparty contracts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the contract process from start to finish

  • Prepare and send outgoing contacts

  • Receive and review incoming contracts

  • Ensure accuracy of internal trade data

  • Validate transactions against trader recaps, broker confirmations and counterparty contracts

  • Interact with counterparty contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain records of internal and external contractual correspondence

  • Develop and maintain desk guides and procedure documentation

  • Perform ad-hoc, internal control, reporting, and other process duties

  • Implement process, procedure, and system improvements

  • Complete project work assignments

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or in a related field

  • Knowledge of physical crude and refined products contract language

  • Understanding of physical crude and refined products general terms and conditions as well as industry standards.

  • Experience with issuing and processing purchase and sale contracts

  • Experience with vessel, barge, rail, truck, terminal, and/or pipeline modes of transportation

  • Experience with cargo or commodity bills of lading and other shipping documentation
