Robinson is seeking a General Manager for our Global Forwarding office in Atlanta, GA.  As the General Manager, you will provide oversight and own accountability for talent development, commercial growth, product development, financial management, and operational quality within a 50+ person office. Critical to your success will be your ability to manage and execute sales and operations to achieve strategic business and financial objectives while aligning to enterprise vision and goals. Responsibilities:

  • Set and lead branch vision, direction, and strategic market plans aligned with C.H. Robinson objectives
  • Use analytics to drive better decision-making and improve business results
  • Design, review, and adjust organizational structures to meet business goals
  • Build and manage internal relationships to improve collaboration and efficiency
  • Lead workforce planning, including recruiting, selecting, and onboarding talent
  • Accountable for financial performance, including volume, margin expectations, and expense management
  • Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to meet targets
  • Communicate plans, financial results, and performance metrics regularly to employees
  • Possess a broad understanding of C.H. Robinson's products, services, and technologies, leveraging them to collaborate with commercial teams in identifying opportunities, driving sales growth, establishing new supply chains, and optimizing client solutions
  • Manage customer relationships, analyzing their businesses and identifying opportunities
  • Oversee talent management, including performance, development, and succession planning
  • Lead compensation and recognition strategies, including bonuses and employee engagement
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, contract negotiations, and risk management
  • Represent C.H. Robinson in external organizations and support brand-building efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • University/Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in global forwarding
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (domestically)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing financials for a business segment
  • Ability to understand and communicate financial metrics, including P & L
  • Demonstrated success generating revenue or business growth in a client-facing role with sales, account management, or carrier management experience
  • Broad market and industry knowledge
  • Proficiency presenting to both internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
