As a Manager on the Neighboring Rights team, you are crucial in leading & scaling our fast-growing neighboring rights business, executing on a value proposition that drives client satisfaction and revenue. Your primary responsibility is to act as first point of contact for a portfolio of performance societies around the world with whom The Orchard works.

What you'll do

  • Ensure eligible content is delivered to collection societies.
  • Work extensively within Microsoft Excel and proprietary/collection society systems to perform a variety of metadata-based tasks.
  • Investigate opportunities to maximize collections within territories by performing analysis of collections at both a society and client level. Perform catalog cleanups at societies to ensure eligible, unregistered content is backfilled and ineligible, registered content is taken down.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of internal and external proprietary platform technology, along with the processes that pertain to it (e.g. claiming, registration, troubleshooting).
  • Communicate regularly with your societies to ensure all technical issues are addressed and that deliveries are received successfully, and oversee conflict resolutions as they pertain to our rights and the required communication with societies and third parties.
  • Support the Label Management and Client services teams by responding to internal queries regarding both your societies and general Neighboring Rights collections.
  • Ensuring timely receipt of distributions from societies and supporting the royalty processing team to resolve any queries relating to payments and supporting data. 

Who you are

  • Office-first role, in office 4 days a week.
  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in the music or entertainment industry.
  • Second language preferred.
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets in a variety of formats; direct experience working with music metadata. Proficiency in SQL, RStudio, Google, Apple, and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
  • Candidate should be well-organized, attentive to detail, and should constantly meet and/or exceed performance objectives (e.g. delivery goals, registration deadlines).
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to evolving workload, not afraid to ask questions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience working with international partners is a plus.

The anticipated annual base salary does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
