The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing, and revising employee onboarding, training programs, and engagement initiatives that enhance the workforce. This role plays a key part in creating a culture focused on “recognizing the good, doing great things, and becoming even better”. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in helping the people team hit strategic organization objectives.

What you will accomplish:

Training and Development:

  • Coordinate with external training vendors to deliver the right content at the right time.  This includes being thoughtful about how we prepare for content, reinforce it, and measure the success of provided training.
  • With guidance - design, develop, and deliver training programs and content that address employee needs, including orientation, technical skills, soft skills, compliance training, and leadership development.
  • Identify training gaps through needs assessments, surveys, and collaboration with department managers.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of internal training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.

Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Support events, workshops, and initiatives that encourage team-building, employee recognition, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies for improving employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor employee feedback through surveys, focus groups, and other channels to identify areas of improvement.

Onboarding and Orientation:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new hires to company policies, culture, and expectations.
  • Develop and update onboarding materials and checklists to ensure consistency of content and brand.

Performance Management:

  • Support the development and implementation of performance management systems, including the admin. of review cycles, promotion processes, etc.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of career development plans and succession planning.

HR Systems and Reporting:

  • Be the internal admin of Awardco’s platform for Awardco!
  • Maintain HR systems and records related to training programs, engagement programs, and other systems as needed.
  • Prepare reports on relevant people metrics to present to senior management.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in HR, training, or employee engagement roles. Strong preference for prior HR experience in tech.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in using software;  Specific experience with HRIS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), G-Suite, Lattice, and Slack an advantage.
  • Ability to develop engaging training content leveraging knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in employee engagement.
  • Ability to facilitate small and large group development experiences.
