The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP, North America, you will oversee capital development programs and ensure alignment with our HSE and sustainability priorities in our Canadian business unit related to D&C, facilities engineering, and surface land. You will manage the budgeting, planning, execution, and optimization of capital projects to ensure the efficient and cost-effective development of assets. You will ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and sustainability standards while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigating risks, optimizing resource allocation, and maximizing returns on capital investments.

What you will do

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to D&C, facilities, surface land, and HSE teams to optimize activities across the teams

  • Focus on operational excellence and developing high performing, engaged teams that value continuous improvement

  • Execute all drilling, completion, well workover and ARO operations in our Canadian business unit, in collaboration with the Manager, D&C

  • Provide technical, process, safety, and project management support to the development and operation of our oil and gas infrastructure in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, in collaboration with the Manager, Facilities Engineering

  • Ensure effective implementation of our HSE and process safety policies by employees and contractors engaged in facilities design and construction work; support the development of new HSE and operational policies and practices as required

  • Deliver the capital budget and lead the budget tracking and annual process

  • Ensure look-backs and peer reviews are utilized to improve economics and foster continuous improvement

  • Keep management appraised of all noteworthy changes to the Capital Program execution, such as but not limited to HSE, D&C operations, facility construction, project costs, and schedules

What you will bring

  • Prior relevant experience with at least 5+ years at a Senior Leadership level, managing larger groups

  • Experience in D&C and / or facilities, a combination of both would be considered a strong asset

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a registered professional engineer with APEGA

  • Demonstrated ability to focus on operational excellence, with a motivation to seek and implement continuous improvement and cost efficiencies

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups

  • Experience working with Montney assets would be considered an asset
