As a DRAM Engineering Group (DEG) Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for crafting and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products! This includes simulating, optimizing, and floor planning DRAM circuits. In this position you will work and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products to optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer happiness! You will also be responsible parasitic modeling and assisting in design validation, reticule experiments and required tape-out revisions.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Key member in the Development of New Memory Products by Assisting with the Overall Design, Layout, and Optimization of Memory Circuits.
Perform circuit simulations using standard industry simulators
Assist in design and development of schematics
Participate in new circuit conception and design as needed
Work with Process Integration to set model performance targets
Responsible for reliability verification
Ability to interpret device specification to produce required functionality
Coordinate and Manage the Layout Process
Manage floor-planning process, including placement and routing optimization
Assist in standard cell development
Optimize design rules for cost, performance and functionality
Define Array Blocks and Pitch Cells
Verify accurate word line and digit line lengths
Choose appropriate transistor sizes and types for pitch cells for Vcell margin and performance
Manage Verification Processes
Perform silicon versus schematic versus layout verification on required circuits
Responsible for simulation, Verilog and parasitic modeling
Assist in silicon design validation, reticule experiments, and tape-out revisions as needed
Maintain Technical Expertise and Provide Training
Aid in communicating best known practices to entire department
Prepare detailed Documentation as required
Participate in global Design forums
Participate in continuing education and competitor analysis
Participate in recruiting, and interviewing of new candidates
Contribute to Cross Group Communication to Work Towards Standardization and Group Success
Work with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, CAD, and Product Engineering groups to ensure proper manufacturability of product
Proactively solicit guidance from various groups (i.e. Standard cell development; simulation, voltages)
Lead and Develop Projects and Team (Leads)
Plan and coordinate projects and resource requirements, including planning, and scheduling activities and tasks, and management of designers and layout designers
Serve as main point of contact for communication for design, layout, process and testing issues for projects
Track progress, supervise when items are completed and what still needs to be done
Prepare project status reports for upper management
Plan and hold design reviews to discuss progress and decisions made about projects
Successful candidates for this position will have:
Knowledge of CMOS Circuit Design and Device Physics Knowledge and experience in Finesim and/or Hspice
Knowledge in verilog modeling and simulation tools
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
A self-motivated, hardworking teammate who enjoys working with others
Experience with a scripting language (Python, Tcl, Perl, etc) Familiarity with memory design is a huge plus
Minimum Requirements:
BSEE or greater
5+ years of Product Engineering or 3+ years of Design experience
Digital or analog circuit design or debugging experience
Strong understanding of array core architectures, circuits, & functions
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey sophisticated technical concepts to peers and management
