The Team

Focused on developing solutions for a broad range of clients, the Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) team is responsible for the P&L of outcome-oriented index solutions such as iBoxx, bond indices globally including ESG indices, CDS indices, Commodities and Alternatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a product team in a growth stage.

The Role

The team is seeking an Analyst to support and promote our Fixed Income Core and ESG bond indices product suite globally. The Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the team as they maintain current and develop new products, by performing and producing analytical work within and across teams as pertaining to the Fixed Income product families.

The Analyst will, alongside commercial teams, will be a key player in developing and executing critical team processes that support the development and achievement of the Fixed Income business strategy.  This is a highly technical role, but also requires effective collaboration skills while having a commercial-focused mindset in achieving the team’s strategic priorities. In addition to being a hands-on Product Manager, the Analyst will be an integral team member and collaborate across adjacent teams to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Focusing on the US market, work across FICC team to support success of FI product lines; help identify new product opportunities to help drive commercial success
  • Be viewed as a key subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of index methodology and processes; possess intimate understanding of internal processes including product launch lifecycle
  • Support team members in client engagement and analysis including external presentation / Powerpoint and data analysis and mining / Excel; be a leader with respect to understanding and articulating components of underlying index methodologies and construction logic
  • Support the coordination of index launch process; collaborate with broader PM team and relevant internal stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Governance, Sales, etc).
  • Support internal team initiatives, including materials relating to business strategy and processes
  • Contribute to product innovation and enhancements, including around index methodology consultations and annual index reviews

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years of experience working with fixed income in the index industry or related
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in mathematics, finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal and presenting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to roll up the sleeves and execute

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Programming skills (Python, R, Matlab) a plus
  • Knowledge of analytical platforms such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MSCI / Barra, or Axioma

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus.
