What you will do

Due to internal career progression we have a fantastic opportunity for a buyer with experience in Procurement, preferably in Fire & Security Subcontract Labour, who is keen to develop their career in a fast paced, challenging but ultimately rewarding environment. 

Johnson Controls, through the use of authorised and approved suppliers carry out installation and service works for our customers on complex high value projects within the Buildings Solutions, Fire, Security & HVAC sectors.

You will be required to work closely with the Procurement Manager, Category Managers and key partners to understand spend requirements, negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers to achieve both cost book and savings targets. You will need to closely manage commercial and contractual interactions with external companies. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting the creation of key supplier partnership business plans based on internal requirements, supplier market analysis and cost models in order to achieve long-term working relationships that enable both supplier and JCI market growth.

How you will do it

  • Supporting the Procurement Manager and Senior Buyer to create and implement sourcing plans
  • Pre-bid support for major projects, inclusive of full tender management where appropriate
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate into a sourcing   strategy
  • Driving contract and category negotiations across the portfolio
  • Supplier K.P.I and S.L.A management, and taking ownership of supplier quarterly business review meetings
  • Relationship management and post-contract value creation
  • Supporting the function to deliver the end-to-end procurement process; delivering cost savings, spend under management & driving innovation
  • Building & updating pipeline activity & tracking delivery against plans
  • Support supplier management processes including supplier on boarding, performance evaluations and audits
  • Creation and delivery of RFXs activities where appropriate using eSourcing platforms to deliver best solution proposals to the business for sourcing decisions

What we look for

Required

  • Experience in a Procurement (Direct or Indirect) role.
  • Experience influencing internal partners, external suppliers and working within defined processes and timescales.
  • Ability to gather and analyse commercial and numerical data to drive category and supplier decision-making
  • Experience in MS Office and Procurement processes including eProcurement suites
  • Proactive, adaptable & flexible with drive to ‘make things happen’ and create opportunities
  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities and work independently where necessary
  • Experience working within a team to achieve both individual and common goals
  • Confident communicator with partners at all levels, and strong presenting skills
  • Organised with attention to detail

Preferred

We’d ideally love you to be CIPS qualified and have experience in Fire & Security Subcontract Labour industry but this is not essential.
