Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join the B-1 Software Development team located in Tinker AFB, OK.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

This position will manage a team of software engineers that are responsible for software development activities of the Avionics Flight Software, Graphics Controller Software, and Simulation Software used on or with the B-1 Bomber.  In addition to aircraft software, this management position will include oversight of research and development, as well as internal applications development, programs that are relevant to the platform. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering

• Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

• Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

• Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

• 3+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering activities

• Experience with software architecture and software implementation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to proactively and quickly make sense of complex issues

• Experience with mentoring, coaching, and growing software engineering teams

• Knowledge of and experience working in embedded software engineering aerospace environments

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Summary pay range for Manager: $123,250.00 - $166,750.00
