Job Summary
We are looking for an L2 Support Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to support and enhance data and analytics platforms in a production environment. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on production support with development and automation responsibilities. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting production issues and is eager to learn and grow into data engineering and analytics technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support (L2)
Provide Level 2 support for data and analytics applications in production
Investigate and resolve incidents related to data pipelines, dashboards, reports, and backend services
Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective fixes
Handle escalations from L1 support and collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues
Development & Automation
Write and maintain Python scripts (intermediate level) for automation, monitoring, and data validation
Develop and optimize advanced SQL queries for investigations and production fixes
Implement small-to-medium code changes to resolve recurring issues
Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation
Data, BI & Analytics Support
Support and troubleshoot analytics dashboards and reporting solutions
Validate data accuracy and consistency across analytics layers
Assist with ad-hoc data analysis and investigations
Work closely with analytics and data engineering teams
Cloud & Data Pipeline Exposure
Support data workflows in cloud environments
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and scheduled jobs
Assist with environment configurations and deployments
Documentation & Collaboration
Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and support documentation
Participate in incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Communicate clearly with stakeholders during issue resolution
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
2–3 years of experience in application support, data support, or support engineering roles
Advanced SQL with hands-on experience in complex queries and data analysis
Python (Intermediate) – scripting, debugging, and automation
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Some working knowledge on Looker, Tableau, Power BI or any other reporting tool
Big Plus (Willingness to Learn Expected)
Looker – interest in learning and supporting LookML models and dashboards
Azure Data Factory (ADF) – willingness to learn pipeline development and troubleshooting
Azure Cloud – eagerness to gain hands-on experience with cloud data services
Snowflake – openness to learning cloud data warehousing concepts and performance basics
