Job Summary:

This position is to perform disposition of nonconforming material that results from material inspection. Uses information provided by the supplier and Quality inspectors to determine the appropriate disposition decision. 

What You Will Do:

  • Process the Quality rejection information into Corporate Quality systems

  • Communicates rejections to purchase finish suppliers and manufacturing plants

  • Drive Corrective and Preventive action processes towards internal and external suppliers

  • Follows up with suppliers to drive towards final disposition of rejected material

  • Creates rework purchase orders as required, Coordinates and monitors the return of reworked material from suppliers

  • Resolve issues reported by customers and process partners

  • Support the Global quality systems and related processes

  • Customers include logistics, operations, facility engineering, quality, purchasing, and other supply chain functional areas.

Background Experience/ Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Mathematics / Science with 5-6 years of job-related experience in quality, operations is typically required

  • Must be able to read Caterpillar blueprints at an advanced level

  • Expertise in handling MS Office365 tools (Excel, Access, Presentation & Power platform) 

  • Experience in managing supplier communications / issues will be an added advantage

  • Must be willing to work in US shift timing to have enough overlap with support teams

• Outputs statistical models into charts, graphs and maps to demonstrate outliers, patterns and trends of data.
• Employs data visualization in documents or reports to tell informative and compelling stories.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • APICS CSCP/ CPIM certification

  • Experience with Caterpillar Parts distribution and knowledge on various Cat systems

  • Certified 6 Sigma / CPS Green Belt, Qualification as a CPS Support Team Leader
