About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineering Consultant for our Software Engineering team. This role requires extensive experience in software development and engineering, along with strong business acumen to identify and capture new opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading projects in cloud-native and containerized environments. In this role you will:

• Technical and Strategic Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to software engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives.

• Client Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify software solution opportunities, and articulate how these can drive business value.

• Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through strategic project proposals, leveraging your expertise to recommend innovative solutions.

• Software Development: Lead the design and implementation of robust applications using programming languages like Java or Python while promoting a culture of innovation.

• DevOps and CI/CD Implementation: Champion the adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies to improve software delivery.

• Architecture Design: Collaborate with clients to design software architectures that align with their business goals, focusing on cloud-native and containerized solutions.

• Security-First Approach: Promote secure engineering practices, integrating application security testing throughout the development lifecycle.

• GenAI Development: Explore and implement generative AI-assisted development approaches to enhance innovation and efficiency.

What You Bring

• A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent, with 5–7 years of experience in software engineering roles.

• Extensive experience and certifications in programming languages such as Java and Python.

• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD practices, and experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

• Solid knowledge and experience in software architecture and engineering, with a focus on security-conscious development (SAST, DAST, IAST).

•  Experience working with cloud-native and containerized solutions, as well as an understanding of security best practices.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to lead teams, workshops, and client sessions while coaching and developing colleagues.

• Strong advisory competencies to simplify complex matters, along with commercial acumen for cross- and upselling opportunities.

• Familiarity with the financial services sector or other regulated industries, and comfort engaging with senior IT management.
