Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Division of Vaccine Excellence is newly established (effective January 1, 2024) and is building the Bureau of Vaccine Programs. With our expansion, we are seeking an intern to assist with important projects to support proper storage and handling of publicly funded vaccines we supply to providers through the NYS Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program.

 

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II. The Hourly Project Assistant II will work in the Division of Vaccine Excellence, Bureau of Vaccine Programs.  The incumbent will assist with reviewing manually reported vaccine temperature data in the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) to determine accuracy, as compared to temperature readings downloaded from a continuous monitoring device.  Duties also include assessing the frequency of temperature reporting and identifying potential unreported temperature excursions. The incumbent will interact with Bureau staff as related to temperature excursions and provider compliance issues. The Incumbent will compare the manually entered data with the digitally downloaded data, compile the data/information gathered and submit a summary of the findings at the end of the internship.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a workforce training program or institution of higher education pursuing a degree or certificate program in public health or related field, within the past six months.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate course work in Public Health or related field. Experience implementing a research project, including data collection and analysis.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 12/13/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.


Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
